Varsity Girls Lacrosse
After hiring temporary coaches last year because of a last-minute resignation, the program sought a new coach for the varsity girls lacrosse team. Over the summer, coach Julie Primero was appointed as the new head coach and managed tryouts. Although players knew a new head coach would be hired, they were unaware that a second coach, Tom Messmer, would also be joining.

"Coach Tom [had) a lot of passion, and he knew a lot more (about lacrosse] than last year's coaches. Almost all of our drills were new (because of coach Tom). The different offense and defense drilled helped us in game," said Sasha-Zoe Dela Rosario '26.

Not only did the coaching staff undergo changes, but the team format also experienced a shift with seven athletes being new to the team or moved up to varsity, and this resulted in 10 out of the 19 players being sophomores on varsity, marking the highest number in program history.
"During practice and games, we [saw] that there [were] things we were not as caught up on, or our stick skills were not as advanced. This [put ]more pressure on us to improve quicker and perform well," said Xianger "April" Fang '26.

With this newly formed team, athletes competed in Division 2 lacrosse. They emerged victorious in two consecutive games: an 18-8 win against Esperanza on Feb. 28 and a 2-1 win in the Rose Bowl Tournament on March 2.

Continuing with the winning streak, lacrosse secured their first overtime game victory in program history against Beckman on March 4, clinching a 9-8 win.
"Skill-wise, the other team was better, but we came together. It was a tense moment when everyone was waiting for someone to score. Aivy Ho '24) scored the winning goal two minutes in overtime," said Lourdes "Lulu" Garin '26.
